I screwed up my Ubuntu installation hahahhaha. To make a long story short, never ever remove libc6. Read!Google the instructions before downgrading. Lesson learned.

Anyway I played quite a number of pc games today at the shop. After we played my cousin treated me and my neighbor for some lugaw(porridge) and penoy(starch coated eggs dipped in vinegar..yum!). He borrowed my Leon and to my surprise my Peter Pan DVD(which is a gift froma classmate). I don’t know why my relatives like Peter Pan so much. When my relatives came last Sunday they watched it. What’s up with Peter Pan anyway?

Learn to live the 80/20 way

Focus on the most important 20%. I’m unsure if it the rewards would be 80% more as it says but focusing on the 20% things/people is a good concept. It’s another way of prioritizing and saying that “Do the things that makes you happy”.

Micromanaging, although it has its flaws is good in real life and Starcraft. The stuff that matters. It’s great to know what they are and spend time with them.

I tried Gaim today and it’s better than the official Yahoo Messnger client. It looks better and sounds better too. My only complaint is that annoying little window that shows your away message.

I also tried installing tomboy, a desktop note-taking application. It’s so simple and easy to use. It’s like a mini post it in my taskbar. The only problem is that I had so much libraries to update and install to get it to work. It’s written in Mono btw.

Wow I’m turning into a Linux geek.

I haven’t been posting for a while because I’ve been pretty much occupied with tinkering linux. Yes I finally installed Ubuntu. I rarely switch to windows now.

Our family celebrated my beloved cousin’s death anniversary today. Everyone had fun. The food was awesome too. It made me realize that I really love belonging to my family. It’s one of the best feelings on earth.

On the other hand, I miss my cousin. She used to take care of me when I was young. She’s a great cook too. I hope she’s happy up there.

I seem to run into old highschool batchmates these days. I’m no expert but here are some tips on leaving a good impression to an old friend/acquaintance:

1. Be sensitive about asking what college or university he/she graduated from. This applies especially if you came from a Top 5 university/college.
2. “You’re fatter/thinner than I last saw you” is a good ice breaker/topic starter.
3. Be comfortable and smile. It sounds simple but it really helps a lot. It also shows confidence.
4. A good and simple conversation is nice and will be remembered fondly. Don’t try to hard to carry a conversation. Keep a good balance of talking and listening.
5. Past memories in highschool, a controversial or funny batchmate are the best topics.
6. Ask if he/she already paid the jeepney fare. Attempt to pay for him/her. If you don’t have enough money and you already asked, act like you’re searching for money in your pocket and wait for him/her to beat you into paying. Tough luck if he/she is doing the same.
7. Give a hard high five or knuckle punch as you smile while bidding goodbye. Yes this applies even if you’re a girl.

I can’t sleep. I feel asleep for about 2 minutes but I woke myself up because I was watching Garden State. And now that I wanted to sleep I can’t.

Not that it kept me awake but I was thinking about a friend. We were close back then but upon entering med school she became aloof. I used to tell her stuff that only a handful of people know and she shared some personal things too. She’s like an older sister to me.

The last good memory I had with her was when she and another friend invited me for lunch. They just had their graduation photos taken and they called me up and asked if I was free. We ate at Burger King. I don’t eat more than I normally would with them. I don’t know why. Then I remember that she said something about my cellphone being new and colored.

I guess the whole point of this post is that people change. I just have to deal with the fact that we’re practically strangers now. It’s just sad thinking about the memories we had. They’re not really great or anything. What I’m trying to say is that, I miss my friend.

I dreamed that I had an iPod Shuffle hanging in my neck. It had a few scratches but I enjoyed it as if it’s new.

In real life, I wouldn’t consider buying a shuffle. I’d rather have an iPop mini instead. But then again if I had the money I’d rather buy a nice digicam. I’m eyeing on the Canon PowerShot A95 eventhough I don’t have enough money to buy one.
